Welcome and thank you for visiting my website.

My name is Michaël Vermeersch, I am born in 1981 and raised in Oostende, Belgium.

I'm an aviation enthousiast and photographer. It all started during the early 90's. I was at school in Oostende nearby the airport. So every day I saw aircrafts flying by. Those days Il-76, B707, … were still allowed to fly at Oostende. They made a big impression on me. Unfortunately I was too young to buy my own camera and to take pictures. I took my first pictures during the late 90's, at the local airfield of Oostende. I went to many air shows and other airfields, so the microbe kept on growing. Between 2000 and 2005 I’ve spent many hours at several airfields to take that one good shot!

Since 2005 I’m working for a real-estate agency, which naturally affected my free-time and my ability to take pictures. The airfield became more and more empty after the banning of Il-76’s, B707’s, … and many other restrictions. At work I had to take a lot of pictures of buildings and interiors. This opened new doors and interests, I started to take pictures for the website, catalogues, … and really enjoyed it. So I became more and more an all-round photographer, leading to what you’ll see at this site. I hardly ever leave without my camera, because you never know what or who you will meet.
